How to Paint High Places

Suppose you have a large tub and a high wall and need to reach the high wall for painting purposes. How do you get there? Let me show you. First, build the above contraption over your tub. You'll need some 2x4's, 2x6's or whatever you can scrounge in your garage. Oh, put a drop cloth over the tub first so it doesn't get scratched. It provides false comfort as a safety net too. Now place the supports over the tub and then a piece of plywood over them. Get the stool from the kitchen and place that on top. When you have this all ready you call in OSHA for safety inspection. No, not the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the other OSHA--Occupational Scottie and House cat Administration. You don't want to climb on this contraption until you know it's safe.

Inspector Baggins comes in to check:
Are those supports secure?

Chelsea, I think you better look below and be sure:

Baggins, you always make me do the dirty work. I see no hidden hazards under the drop cloth.

Let's look under here.

Yep, it's pretty safe.......I think. It's certainly cozy if that helps.

Dad, I'll catch you if you fall.

OK OSHA, now you need to inspect above the shower before Dad climbs up there next.

Forget that! Cats don't do ladders. Call me when you're done. I'm bored with all this work and I don't do overtime.

And that is how you paint dangerous high places. Special thanks to OSHA for helping us get it done safely. Mr. H climbed and climbed until he had all the walls primed, then sprayed with orange peel, and finally painted. Whew! Now we're tired! I promise the reveal in my next post. I am recovering and editing pictures.

Well thank goodness you have a Mr H to go all the way up there. Makes me dizzy even thinking about it. Look forward to seeing the finished result.

Good thing you had OSHA to help! LOL We have ceilings like that. They desperately need paint. Does your hubby travel? :D

Laura, You know what makes me smile about this post? That you are painting and striping wall paper as you go! I can still see remnants to the right of the tub! So funny. I love to visit your blog. I always get the best ideas, inspiration for decorating, and wonderful peeks at your pets. Did you see the amazing Scottie door stop I found? Your make over is coming along so beautifully - me I am not so good with color choices! Elizabeth

LOL!! You have the best crew ever. And I love the photos that prove they were on the job. I think Joey and Savannah would fight over who gets the cozy place if I were doing the job. Thanks for sharing - can't wait to see the reveal.

....and as I always say, Scotties are NOT dogs...they are people who are little in size with fuzzy ears and lots of hair all over.

Chelsea....how cute that she wants to be by you and Mr. H. - regardless the hazards that are all around her.

Mr. Baggins, you did an amazing job stuper-vising. Will there me any extra treats involved for a job well done? Now tell me, where was Oliver?
