The Master Bedroom~After

Here is my new look for the master bedroom!
Other than some minor tweaks here and there,
the room is complete.

I wanted a fresh, clean, serene look.....
a look that reminded me of our favorite vacation spot.
Beach Cottage Serene

After choosing the paint color for the room,
I then searched for neutral bedding.
I kept thinking of beautiful blue waters and sandy beaches.
(Shopping details at end of post.)

And then I thought of the beautiful sea life
I saw in brilliant colors.
I chose coral for my accent.

I am so pleased with how this framed sea fan turned out.
I painted an existing frame,
leaving the neutral matting.
Mr. H cut a piece of masonite to fit the frame,
and I covered it with burlap.
I painted the sea fan red,
and then lightly sponged orange for some definition.
I used the glue gun to set it on the burlap.

This sweet little clock was a thrift store purchase ($2.00).
Formerly brown with a brass bevel,
it looks updated in these colors.

I want to keep the nightstands clutter free.
I love the scripture print I purchased while
at a craft fair in North Carolina.
I will share about the artist soon,
and I just might have one for a give away soon.

I moved the other wicker chair,
making Sawyer's corner less crowded (you'll see).

This photo is blurry, but you can see the armoire
closed and hiding the TV!

None of the furniture is new.
The bed, nightstands, and armoire were purchased from
Rooms to Go a few years ago.
The wicker chairs were bought from Pier One,
originally for the living room a long time ago.
I have never tired of them.
They are timeless.

The little metal table/shelves still need painting.

The little lamp (thrift store) was originally gold.
I painted it white and covered the shade with burlap.
The glue gun came in handy again as I edged the shade
with bits of shells from our most favorite beach on the planet.

The shelves will be re-accessorized.
I continued the simple theme atop the armoire.
The beautiful shell on the right was a purchase this summer
from a local shell store.
I would like another large shell for the left--
a Christmas wish--hint, hint to family.
The new blue shows off Mr. H's crown molding so much better.

This is a real bedroom, thus some reality.
Sawyer's crate that he loves must stay.

Here is another frame of shells.
Scallops can have such beautiful colors!
I will be posting a how to post for this soon.
It was hard to capture the true colors in this darker corner.

This corner of the room still needs some work.
I have a beautiful scripture saying to go over the
french doors.  I had to wait for the paint to cure first.
Meanwhile, do you like my very crude
Photoshop writing?

The entrance to the bedroom was left as is,
still somewhat foo-foo.

It serves as a transition to the master bath.

I love the knobs I found at Marshalls for these closets doors.

Did you make it this far?

Thank you so much for letting me share with you!
It has made the redo all the more special.
I hope you have been inspired.

It is beautiful!

You remind me of my daughter, she will look at an item and then imagine it painted white. :)

Lallee this is just so lovely and you really have captured that trip you love so much to the beach, the water, coral, and shells all fit right into this room. The paint says gray on your list but it is a blue almost a light aqua it looks to me. One of my top favorite colors these days and I'm using it on my basement stairs to lighten up the space and make it look more pleasant going down. Nan

What a really lovely room! I love all of your touches. Are those pins in the small frame? It has given my an idea. I have pins of my mind that are just sitting in a box. What a lovely idea to display them!

Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my blog concerning my Mom's passing. I miss her terribly, but I know that she is no longer suffering and that she is with the Lord- just where she would choose to be. :)
